Not much has changed from the 6.61 map version to the new 6.62. Only changes on codes were made.
As promissed, Icefrog has been working on this 6.62 since the first day he knew that the current version wouldn't work on the 1.24 patch. Many codes had to be reworked to properly work on the newest patch and because of that, bugs may be still found.
On his blog, he recommends the organizer of tournaments to do not change to the 6.62 version in the following days. It is understandable, since it was just released to the public, people will play and find some remaining bugs that will be fixed by Icefrog on the next update, maybe a 6.62b map.

Because of the amount of new code in this patch, I recommend tournaments wait at least a few days before adopting it.

Update:
Due to a critical bug, 6.62b has been released last night. Based on this exploit, you were able to recharge your bottle without a fountain or rune.
For a fair game, we recommend you to update to the newest DotA and Warcraft 3 version.
