losemann blog:Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

In my life there has been a big change, one that I would never have thought would happen before. One that I did not have on my list for upcoming time and which has was not planned to happen. The big thing which happened was that I started working again in the electronic sports sector.

And when I am back in electronic sports, then I also need to keep my blog alive, this is what I promised myself and this is what I have on my to-do for the upcoming time. Many people were a bit disappointed to not see me blogging anymore and many were maybe happy to see me not spamming my blog around the world.

Since January 4th I am living in Berlin (Germany), where I started to work as a Sales & Community Manager for Freaks 4U, a company which has a lot to offer, for example great leagues such as NGL ONE and ZOTAC Cups. We have such a big portfolio that it would take me months to explain you guys what we are capable of, but here is what I am working on right now:

  • CM Storm the Front
  • Razer StarCraft II Beta Domination
  • ZOTAC Cups
  • KODE5 Germany
  • New and yet to be announced projects

These are my main tasks at the moment and in addition to that I have also been planning the last NGL ONE finals, which were held a few days ago. There I had to give interviews again and I was not even used to that anymore.

From the very first moment I started in Freaks 4U I was surrounded by cool and smart colleagues such as Raphael Baur, Matthias Remmert and Michael Haenisch, who were all giving me a great opportunity to grow with my tasks and who were giving me the feeling that I am a great part of this company. Also my other colleagues are doing a great job helping me whenever I need a tiny little thing.

When I had one of many long phone calls with Micha, I was not really sure if I should go back into electronic sports again, I felt very bad after my last engagement with MYM and I felt that also in my blog I have criticized people in a wrong and too offensive way. Such as one of our former partners, I felt very bad about that and I felt that I have made a lot of mistakes. But on the other hand I knew I could be one of those guys working fulltime in esports and I knew I am capable of working hard and effective, even though many would not believe it.

It went so fast, Micha and I had phonecalls over hours and we had discussed many cases and I had written proposals. Suddenly after Christmas I knew that I would take the job and move to Berlin directly after 2010 began.

After now pretty much five months in a new city and in a new company I feel that I have finally arrived. I finished my very first offline tournament on the organizer side and I have learned a lot. I have learned to handle and see things from a different angle and I have learned that on many things you have no influence, like the volcanic eruption, which could have killed the NGL ONE finals.

This is the main reason for me to work in such a young company, I can grow together with the company and my tasks will always be very complex, so that in the end of the day I know what I did and in the end of a day I know what I could have done better.

One thing I would love to add at the end is: My heart is still with you, my dear esports love!
